A better job search strategy

I feel it necessary for you as a candidate to secure that next job, to change the traditional job search process. For too long, we all have relied on the archaic "cover letter, resume and prayer method" of search. That method has been used almost exclusively for the last 50 years, by candidates, career coaches, and recruiters with little to show for it, expect frustration and angst. In today's highly competitive market place, we must find a way to contact the real decision makers in a coordinated, step-by-step marketing process.

Even though most candidates know the truth that recruiters often have only 3-5% of all the jobs, candidates, dehirees, retirees, or people re-entering the job market, typically use recruiters. Candidates still rely too much on these old and ineffective methods. Furthermore, candidates are still mailing and emailing resumes and cover letters to company's HR department, even though they know little will come from their efforts, except for wasted time, money and effort. The frustration factor of a typical job search is, indeed, high. Candidates in search mode are still looking through the web, the newspapers, for the same old tried and not true methods for finding and securing that next job.

Finally, there is a new methodology; those shackles for candidates have been broken. By yourself or with the aid of a career coach you must define that new search method that will allow you to "get noticed," "get interviewed," and "get that next job."

Your approach must be to seek out a program that will demonstrate a strategy that allows you to explore who you are, review and establish your goals and accomplishments, market yourself in today's risk averse search environment, and finally interview, negotiate and close to "get that next job!"
